The ProQual Level 4 Certificate in Micro-pigmentation is a nationally recognised qualification that provides learners with the professional knowledge and practical competence to safely and confidently deliver micro-pigmentation (semi-permanent makeup) treatments. This includes advanced techniques for the eyebrows, eyeliner, and lips. The course is designed to meet UK regulatory standards and prepare learners for licensing, insurance, and clinical excellence.

To complete this qualification, learners must achieve three mandatory units:


Health and Safety in a Salon Environment

Unit Reference: J/651/2395 – Level 2


Infection Control and Prevention for Cosmetic, Aesthetic and Needle Related Treatments

Unit Reference: L/651/2397 – Level 2


Providing Initial Consultation With Client

Unit Reference: H/651/2401 – Level 4

ASSESSMENT & EVIDENCE

You will complete a portfolio of evidence that includes:


  • Written assignments

  • X4 practical treatments on live models or in simulation

  • Client consultation records

  • Case studies with before-and-after photographic documentation

PROGRESSION OPPORTUNITIES

After completing this qualification, learners can:


  • Offer professional SPMU services in clinics or freelance practice

  • Progress to advanced PMU techniques (e.g, medical tattooing, scalp micro-pigmentation)

  • Enrol in other Level 4 or Level 5 aesthetics qualifications

  • Meet local authority licensing requirements for semi-permanent makeup practitioners
